A Cozy, Sophisticated Space for Twin Boys

A Cozy, Sophisticated Space for Twin Boys

When not writing or styling, I love thinking up creative design concepts for myself and friends. Here's a look at what I put together when planning my twin sons' nursery in 2015...

When I began designing a nursery for my twin boys almost two years ago, a lot came into play. Because I was working with a small room, located just off our main living space, I knew that I wanted a space that flowed well with the rest of our home, but still looked and worked functionally as a nursery.

I chose a charcoal gray paint color to help define the space and make it feel cozy (because this is a small room with lots of natural light, it works), and then set about finding furniture pieces that worked well scale wise to the room, as well as provide ample storage and blend well with the decor in the rest of my home. I layered in light wood tones, vintage metals, natural textiles, animal accents and classic prints for a sophisticated look that didn't feel too grown up. Here's the inspiration board I put together for the space...
